Pendulum Communications Tayim Launch
Last night was the much-anticipated launch of Tayim, a new Sydney restaurant combining modern and traditional Middle Eastern cuisine. Located within the historic Rocks area of the Sydney CBD (within the boutique Harbour Rocks Hotel), Tayim’s stunning sandstone interiors blend the rich cultures of the Middle East and the heritage features of the building to create a unique dining experience. At last night’s launch event, Tayim welcomed 150 guests, including media, celebrities and influencers.
Showcasing the vibrant flavours and aromas of the Middle East the drinks menu for the night was carefully curated by GM, Reuvin Lim, and Bar Manager, Xander Ramirez. Upon arrival guests were offered a choice of two cocktails and wine and beer flowed all night, including Three Sheets Australian Pale Ale from neighbouring award winning brewery The Lord Nelson.
Head Chef, Ran Kimelfeld, created a taster menu for the night showcasing the venues dishes, which center around the region’s most flavorsome dishes. Substantial mezze tables were also prominent features on the night where guests were able to tuck into delectable nibbles. Small bite-sized versions of the restaurant’s ‘Night’s of Beirut’, a semolina rose pudding accompanied with pistachio meringue and summer berries, were served for dessert.
The upstairs terrace was transformed into a Bedouin haven for the evening, complete with low seating and traditional ottomans. Guests sat on vibrant scatter cushions and stools surrounded by brass lanterns, with fruit-flavoured shisha pipes available on request.
Set in the heart of Sydney’s Rocks, an area steeped in local history, Tayim finds inspiration in a new approach to old standards from centuries past. Open for early breakfast to late dinner from 14 December, Tayim embodies the warmth and flavour of the Middle East in Sydney.
